Stanford Electron Microscopy-X (EM-X) Symposium

Training
Date: 12-Oct-2026

You are invite to attend the webinar in October 2026 Stanford Electron Microscopy-X (EM-X) Symposium on October 12th, 2026, Monday, 8-9:30 AM (PDT).

Speakers:

Prof. Wen Jiang
Professor, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, The Pennsylvania State University
Talk Title: The Many Structures of Protein Amyloids in Neurodegenerative Diseases: Insights from Cryo-EM
Bio: Dr. Wen Jiang earned his B.S. in Physics from Peking University, China, and completed his Ph.D. and postdoctoral training in cryo-EM at Baylor College of Medicine. Since 2025, he has been Dorothy Foehr Huck and J. Lloyd Huck Chair in Structural Biology at Penn State University. His research both develops new cryo-EM methods and applies them to important biological questions.

Dr. Qi Zheng
Sustainability Accelerator Fellow, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Stanford University
Talk Title: When Gas Becomes Solid: Visualizing Atomic-scale Assembly by Cryo-Environmental TEM
Bio: Dr. Qi Zheng obtained his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on in situ electron microscopy, particularly liquid-phase TEM and environmental TEM (ETEM), to understand dynamic processes and interfacial reactions at the atomic level.
