CryoEM and cryoET data acquisition strategies nowadays focus on automation and throughput in capturing images of biological specimens, thereby reducing human intervention and error. Despite enhanced levels of automation and deep learning approaches, controlling and understanding sample quality is still the main prerequisite for successful data acquisition. I will outline which parameters need to be taken into account for successful cryoEM and cryoET data acquisition and discuss the most common strategies and software solutions for data acquisition.
